About us

BIL Engineering is a division within the BIL Group who are widely known for the quality production of Castors, Wheels and Material Handling equipment.

Originally a distributor of the above products, the group has grown significantly over the past 50 years becoming a manufacturer in our own right to ISO9001:2015 quality standards.

Part of the group’s forward vision was always to extend our capabilities further by manufacturing a wider range of both fabricated and machined products. This was not only to be able to enhance our offerings to existing customers but also to expand our outreach to new clients with different requirements that we can address.

Based in Calne, Wiltshire, on the same estate as BIL Group headquarters, BIL Engineering have the capabilities to produce large quantities of bespoke, fabricated and machined parts to an extremely high quality finish, often working to tight deadlines and tight tolerance restrictions.

We adopt a consultative approach to all engineering projects whether this be to manufacture parts towards a customer’s final product or producing the final product ourselves. We are with you every step of the manufacturing journey.

A Skilled & Experienced Design-Led Approach to Every Custom Engineering Project

Our national projects team specialise in a design-led approach starting with an initial meeting to discuss your individual requirement. This initial fact-finding process will lead to proposed solutions and conceptual designs. During this process we respect your confidentiality and we are totally prepared to sign NDA’s where required.

Once your needs are clearly defined, we can then move forward to more detailed designs. We can consider prototyping and field testing in certain circumstances. Technical drawings and modelling will be carried out by our skilled in-house designers.

Then when you are totally happy to proceed to production, we then employ the very latest technology and use the best and most appropriate materials to manufacture a solution to meet with your requisite demands.

Quality is strictly controlled throughout the whole process from start to finish so you can rest assured that you will only receive product that is both fit for purpose and has been engineered to perfection.

Once product has been delivered to you, we will always follow up with further contact to ensure that you are happy with the solution we have provided.
