Aircraft docking equipment manufacturer

A major international Aircraft Docking equipment manufacturer required an exact match for an 11,400kg swivel castor which was specified on a drawing but which was no longer available from the original manufacturer. This was a bespoke requirement which required the services of a very specialised castor and wheel manufacturer with the right equipment and technical capabilities. This solution also needed to be delivered within four weeks from order.

As usual, we offered a consultative approach to ensure that a complete understanding of the project was clearly defined, thereby ensuring that our client’s requirements were delivered.

Using our 15,000kg rated swivel head, we were able to modify this dimensionally to suit our customer’s requirement. We also took the opportunity to make further improvements to the original specification by fitting Vulkollan wheels. An eight-way directional for great control during movement and a foot guard for health and safety compliance was also engineered in the final solution.

By offering a bespoke solution to exactly match the requirements of our client, we were able to fulfil the requirements of a docking system project without the need to redesign key elements and thus considerable time and cost savings were made. We added further value by producing a solution which included additional performance and health and safety benefits above the original specification.

We also supplied the solution in just under four weeks.
