Aluminium boat builder

One of our clients is an Aluminium Boat builder on the South Coast. We have provided heavy duty wheels for their cradles for many years. As their Vessels have become larger, they began to have issues with conventional wheels due to the loads concerned and the presence of seawater.

Repeated exposure to the salinity started debonding the polyurethane tyres. When coupled with a short bearing life, a new custom solution had to be found.

In partnership with the customer, Bil projects produced some heavy duty nylon wheels which were 250mm in diameter, 220mm long and came complete with 50mm plain bore with an extra tolerance to cope with the salt water environment. The high load capacity of this product means they can cope with the increasing demands of the larger vessels ensuring a trouble free launch and removing time lost to maintenance.
